Wellness work is booked in courses, not visits

A wellness centre schedules people against rooms and equipment, often for a series rather than a single appointment. A physiotherapy plan, an ayurvedic course, a set of ten sessions — each one needs the same practitioner, ideally at the same time of week, over several weeks. That is a different scheduling problem from a salon's, and it is where most generic booking tools fall short.

Practitioner availability is the constraint that decides everything else. Each person has their own hours, their own modalities and their own room requirements, so the calendar has to be built per practitioner and the booking page has to read those hours in real time rather than offering a generic grid.

Client records carry more weight than in a salon. Conditions, contraindications and intake notes need to be on the profile and flag before a session is booked, and consent or assessment forms need to attach to the appointment they belong to so the history is defensible months later.

Because the revenue is prepaid — a course bought upfront and consumed over weeks — the balance, the expiry and the attendance record all have to agree. When they do, a centre can see which courses actually get completed, which is the number that predicts renewals.
