Which salon reports to track (and how to actually read them)

Which salon reports to track (and how to actually read them)

Salon software can produce dozens of reports, and that is exactly the problem — most owners glance at revenue and ignore the rest. But a handful of numbers, checked regularly, will tell you more about the health of your business than your bank balance ever will. Here are the ones worth your attention.

Revenue — but broken down

Total revenue is the headline; the breakdown is the story. Split it into services vs retail, and by stylist and by location if you have more than one. A month can be flat overall while retail collapses or one stylist quietly carries the team — and you only see that in the breakdown.

Rebooking rate

The share of clients who book their next appointment before they leave. This is the single best predictor of future revenue: a high rebooking rate means a full calendar next month without spending a rupee on marketing. If it is low, fix your checkout habit before you do anything else.

Client retention

The share of clients who come back within their expected cycle. New clients are expensive; a leaky retention rate means you are refilling a bucket with a hole in it. Track it, and watch it move when you turn on reminders, rebooking and win-back campaigns.

Average bill (average ticket)

Total revenue divided by number of visits. Raising this even slightly — through retail, add-on treatments or packages — flows almost entirely to profit because your rent and staff cost is already covered. It is usually easier to grow than getting more clients through the door.

No-show rate

The percentage of booked appointments that never arrive. Every point of no-show rate is empty-chair revenue you already earned and lost. If this number is high, your fastest fix is automated reminders.

Stylist performance

Revenue, rebooking rate and retail per stylist. This tells you who to celebrate, who needs coaching, and who is ready for a higher commission tier — and it makes those conversations about numbers, not opinions.

Where to find them

All of these live in the Reports section of Salonior, updated in real time from your bookings and sales. Pick a rhythm — a quick weekly glance and a proper monthly review — and let the numbers point to your next move.

You cannot grow what you do not look at. Five numbers, checked often, beat fifty you never open.
